Open Chance & Associates law office was founded in 2001 by Dr Helal Farghaly after 28 years of practicing law and accumulating experience in multiple jurisdictions and specialties.
As part of the Egyptian legal arena, the firm witnessed and experienced tremendous changes of two great revolutions, ultimately transforming the business environment and creating a substantial and increasing demand for infrastructure and PPP projects, among many others. In Dr Farghaly’s view, these projects and facilitations offered by the Egyptian Government, were precisely the elements that attract foreign and local investors to invest in Egypt.
Dr. Farghaly had experience in the legal and business fields for over 45 years. He had unique and longstanding experience in negotiating and concluding commercial contracts and transactions, real estate development agreements, capital market, business acquisitions, business restructuring, business strategies, logistics, energy, business alliances, litigation, IPR licensing and assignments, infrastructure projects and arbitration thereon, all on local and international levels. In addition, he worked as a legal counsel with a number of companies on different disciplines of business including; IT, real estate development and property management, manufacturing, technology and energy.
He passed away in 2021 during the COVID pandemic. We pay respectful tribute to Dr Farghaly. His legacy lives on in Helal & Fraser International.
